We recommend this round bolster. You can also make your own bolster using a heavy blanket or pillow. See video above.
Yoga mats are a personal choice based on height, and budget. We recommend having two yoga mats. Any of these will work nicely.
Michael recommends two yoga blocks. These are standard large yoga blocks, which measure 5″ x 12″ x 6″. See Michael’s Giant yoga blocks below for comparison.
For advanced students, we recommend two sandbags. You can begin with two 10lb sandbags. For comparison, see the 15lbs sandbags below.
The Stretch Out Strap® has multiple loops that permit deep, gradual stretching of major muscle groups with greater safety, control and effectiveness than is possible unaided.
Folding Chair
We recommend you buy a yoga chair, like this affordable one Michael recently purchased.
Please note: Michael no longer recommends using a standard folding chair because in recent experience they have not been sturdy enough to hold his weight. Therefore are not safe for our students.
Many students ask about the giant size blocks Michael uses in his classes. Here they are. The measurements of these blocks are: 6-1/2” x 9-1/4” x 13-1/2”
This thick heavy blanket can also be used in place of a bolster. See this video of how to make a bolster:

The basic yoga strap. This Quick-Release style strap is great for anyone who doesn’t want to hassle with threading a D-Ring or Cinch buckle.
